Construction is due to commence on Stage One of the Stafford Road/ South Pine Road upgrade in 2019.
Tim Mander, State Member for Everton, said “During the recent Queensland election, I was successful in securing a commitment from both major parties for the construction of Stage one of the Stafford/South Pine Roads Intersection upgrade.”
“The congestion at this intersection is a major issue and I am proud to have delivered the commitment to this upgrade and bring relief to commuters at this traffic bottleneck.”
When the LNP was in government, we finalised a Preferred Concept Plan for a major upgrade and I have been lobbying for this upgrade to commence since then,” he said.
“TMR has advised me this week that they expect to commence construction of Stage one in mid-2019,” he said.
Stage one will deliver a four-lane Everton Park Link Road between South Pine Road, north of Kedron Brook, and Stafford Road east of Mountridge Street.
“By redirecting traffic movements away from the South Pine and Stafford Road intersection, we will significantly reduce pressure on the intersection and improve travel times.”
“The works will take place away from operating roads, with minimal traffic and amenity impacts during construction,” he said.
