Mander welcomes $1.1 Million upgrade to Albany Creek intersection

Tim Mander, State Member for Everton is pleased to announce that safety improvement works will soon commence at the intersection of Old Northern Road with Explorer Drive in Albany Creek.

Mr Mander said “Traffic signals will be installed and will include a fully controlled right-turn movement from Explorer Drive onto Old Northern Road.”

“These works are being undertaken to improve road safety for all road users by decreasing the risk of collision at the intersection,” he said.

In 2015 I campaigned strongly for an investigation into safety concerns at this intersection. The Department and Main Roads and Road Safety confirmed that lights were necessary to make this intersection safe.

“The upgrade will focus on a design to address the growing trend of crashes at the intersection and is due for completion this year,’ he said

Surveying works will be undertaken over coming months to assist in the design process.
